Research on exercise training for lung cancer patients was awarded with Dr. Eduardo Esteves Pinto prize 

After being distinguished with the best oral communication at the 1st Portuguese Congress in Lung Cancer, in October 2022, the study entitled “Home-based preoperative exercise training for lung cancer patients undergoing surgery: A feasibility trial” was recognized again at the 1st Iberic Thoracic Surgery Meeting, from november 25 to 27, with the Dr. Eduardo Esteves Pinto prize. Projet microBioS is the number one winner of the Knowledge Circle Voucher Contest

microBioS, a ciTechCare project, whose purpose is to face the global problem of antimicrobial resistance, was awarded with the first prize of the Knowledge Circle Voucher Contest, last November 25, at the 1st Industry Open Day of Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA).  By coincidence, the prize was announced on November 18, which is the European Antibiotic Awareness Day. ciTechCare invited Professor Andre Nyberg to talk about muscle function and disease management in patients with COPD

Professor Andre Nyberg, from Umeå University, was at citehcare, last november 29 and 30, for a cross-sharing experience on his professional field of work, focused on muscle assessment and treatment in patients with chronic obstrutive pulmonar disease (COPD), a topic which has also been a subject of interest and research at ciTechCare. “High-intensity exercise programs are not suitable for every patients with COPD”, however “there are certain groups of people that can really benefit from doing this exercise training modality”, said Professor Andre. ciTechCare developed a digital platform denominated OnTrack, a personalized coaching platform to tackle physical inactivity in COPD.
