Body image and exercise dependence during lockdown

Roberta Frontini, researcher at ciTechCare, presented on May 29 an oral communication entitled “Comparing body image and exercise dependence between different fitness groups during COVID-19”, at the 1st International Conference on Human Kinesiology.This work aimed to understand the levels of exercise dependence of 3 groups of practitioners: weight training, cross training and group classes in gyms, during the second confinement of COVID-19. Body image (in)satisfaction was also analysed. Association between clock genes and individual metabolism

The 17th Portuguese Diabetes Congress organized by the Portuguese Society of Diabetology (SPD) is taking place between 11 and 17 March 2021. Participation in the “Jornadas de Avaliação e Prescrição em Exercício para a Saúde” – ESECS, Polytechnic of Leiria

In 25th and 26th of October 2019, three researchers from ciTechCare participated in the Jornadas de Avaliação e Prescrição em Exercício para a Saúde – an event organized by the School of Education and Social Sciences (ESECS) of the Polytechnic of Leiria. Participation in the 29th European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress 2019

Joana Cruz presented 3 posters on the topic of physical activity promotion in COPD (2 of them part of the OnTRACK project) at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress 2019, held in Madrid from September 28 to October 2. Two of the posters were presented in Thematic Poster sessions and 1 in a Poster Discussion session. She was also invited to a Chair of one of the Thematic Poster sessions in this event, which is one of the most prestigious congresses in the respiratory field.

MOVIDA at the WONCA Conference

At the last European conference of WONCA European Family Doctors, held in Bratislava, Slovakia in June, the MOVIDA project won the best paper award in the field of Public Health and Health Prevention. The ciTechCare researchers Rui Fonseca-Pinto and Bruno Carreira attended the conference and also presented a workshop on Prescribing Physical Activity, where they discussed the use of mobile applications to prescribe and monitor physical activity.
