Roberta Frontini, Marlene Rosa and Raúl Antunes, together with two Physiotherapy students from the School of Health Sciences, Polytechnic of Leiria, who recently did an internship at ciTechCare, Ruben Coelho and Pedro Marques, presented two posters on June 18 at the III Jornadas de Intervenção Psicossocial na Comunidade: Pensar o idoso e o envelhecimento (JIPC2021).The posters presented two qualitative studies on determinants and barriers to exercise training in two groups of sedentary elderly, one who participated in a community physical exercise group and the other group who did not participate. Roberta Frontini, researcher at ciTechCare, is a co-author of 2 posters presented in the III Jornadas de Intervenção Psicossocial na Comunidade: Pensar o idoso e o envelhecimento (JIPC2021), which took place on June 18, 2021.In the first poster entitled “Museum in the village: Community project where art and culture combat social isolation and loneliness in the elderly”, presented by Lina Tábua Pereira, the Museum in the Village project was disseminated. Roberta Frontini, researcher at ciTechCare, presented on May 29 an oral communication entitled “Comparing body image and exercise dependence between different fitness groups during COVID-19”, at the 1st International Conference on Human Kinesiology.This work aimed to understand the levels of exercise dependence of 3 groups of practitioners: weight training, cross training and group classes in gyms, during the second confinement of COVID-19. Body image (in)satisfaction was also analysed. The 17th Portuguese Diabetes Congress organized by the Portuguese Society of Diabetology (SPD) is taking place between 11 and 17 March 2021. In 25th and 26th of October 2019, three researchers from ciTechCare participated in the Jornadas de Avaliação e Prescrição em Exercício para a Saúde – an event organized by the School of Education and Social Sciences (ESECS) of the Polytechnic of Leiria. Maria Guarino chaired the first panel of oral communications, where Joana Cruz presented the project “OnTRACK – On Time to Rethink ACtivity Knowledge: a personalized mHealth coaching platform to tackle physical inactivity in COPD” and Rui Fonseca-Pinto presented the project “MOVIDA – Physical activity monitoring platform”.
