The research “Online platform for physical activity promotion in patients with COPD in primary care” (Plataforma móvel de promoção da atividade física em pessoas com DPOC nos Cuidados de Saúde Primários) received the scientific award “Bolsa de Inovação Diagnóstica e Terapêutica Update em Medicina / Alfasigma 2019” (Research Update Medicine Project / Alfasigma 2019).This award will be used to develop a mobile platform that enables primary care
Research of the Polytechnic of Leiria aiming to characterize the Celiac Disease in Portugal was awarded by the Health Marathon
The research “CeliAct – Celiac Disease: characterize to treat”, developed by Sónia Gonçalves Pereira, received one of the scientific awards 5th edition of the Health Marathon, in the area of Autoimmune Diseases and Allergies, for the first time attributed to a Polytechnic. These prizes are awarded in partnership with the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), which provides the necessary logistical support for the application process, dissemination and distribution by the jury. On March 10th, 2019, during the 15th Portuguese Diabetes Congress, the Bragança Parreira SPD / Roche Grant was awarded the project “CBmeter – a new technology with predictive value for the diagnosis of metabolic diseases”, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Maria Pedro Guarino, Adjunct Professor at the School of Health Sciences and Researcher at the Center for Innovative Care and Health Technology (ciTechCare). This grant is established by the Portuguese Society of Diabetology with the purpose of rewarding a research project in the area of Technology in Diabetes. Maria dos Anjos Dixe (and the Help2Care team) has achieved: Honourable Mention in the Knowledge category in the 2018 edition of the Good Practices for Active and Healthy Ageing prize in the Central Region with the project Help2Care designated by the Regional Coordination and Development Committee of the Ageing@Coimbra Centre and Consortium – 20th November 2018.
First Prize with ‘Communication Overload of the Informal Caregivers of Dependent People: Challenges for Mental Health Nurses’ presented by Ana Querido and Maria dos Anjos Dixe in the 9th International Congress of the Portuguese Society for Mental Health Nursing held at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança on 18th-19th October 2018.Maria dos Anjos Dixe, Cristina Baixinho and Adriana Henriques, researchers at the Center for Innovative Care and Health Technology (ciTechCare), were awarded the Honourable Mention with the article ‘Restriction of activity after a fall in institutionalised elderly people’ a theory based on the 7th Ibero-American Congress on Qualitative Research held at the University of Fortaleza – Brazil on 11th-13th July 2018.
Maria dos Anjos Dixe researcher at the Center for Innovative Care and Health Technology (ciTechCare) and Patrícia Miranda, Joana Aquino, Ricardo Monteiro, Alexandra Luz, Pascoal Moleiro were awarded the First Prize of the Eric Roger Wroclawski Award 2018 in the category of Clinical Medicine with the article ‘Sexual behaviours: Study of Young People’.
