ciTechCare researchers integrate a pioneer guide in Speech Therapy

Carina Pinto, Débora Franco, Inês Lopes and Sónia Pós de Mina, researchers, lecturers and members of the Portuguese Society of Speech Therapy are co-authors of the “Compendium of Speech Therapy: evaluate and intervene with evidence”, the most recent and extensive work written by experts, and the only one written in European Portuguese.

This work addresses all areas of intervention of Speech Therapy and is structured in three main chapters – evaluation, intervention and case studies. Over 3 years, 70 members of the Portuguese Society of Speech Therapy have been building the work that aims to “fill all the needs of speech therapists in all fields of activity”, says Carina Pinto.

The detailed reading of Compendium allows students and other healthcare professionals such as neurologists, pediatricians or otolaryngologists to update their knowledge, namely on evidence-based intervention and evaluation methodologies.

Throughout 1400 pages it is possible to search the most updated information on the different seccions of the book, and understand individually, with each patient, how to better perform by reading the case studies.
