Research article turned into a book chapter

With the purpose of studying and understanding, during Portuguese coronavirus lockdown, in april, how the physical activity and the anxiety levels were perceived by people, Raul Antunes, Pedro Morouço and Roberta Frontini, researchers at ciTechCare, coauthored the article entitled “Higher physical activity levels may help buffer the negative psychological consequences of Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic”, which was recently integrated as a chapter in Psychological Factors In Physical Education and Sport book.

The study shows that higher levels of physical activity are related with lower anxiety levels during the lockdown, underlying the importance of having multidisciplinary teams working on social isolation contexts.

Then, physical activity is crucial at this kind of conditions and enhance the satisfaction of basic psychological needs.
