Motivational factors in nature sports between exercises and non-exercisers

Roberta Frontini, researcher at ciTechCare is co-author of an article recently published in the Journal of Sport Pedagogy and Research. This work is part of a series of studies coordinated by Professor António Brandão, from the Superior School of Sport and Leisure – Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (ESDL-IPVC), within a project on Risk and Safety in sports from nature and adventure, where Roberta has collaborated.

In this work, the authors tried to understand the motivations for the practice of nature and adventure sports, comparing practitioners and non-practitioners of exercise. The study revealed that the reasons linked to revitalization, pleasure and affiliation are the most mentioned by practitioners of this type of sports.
