CITECHCARE LABORATORIES
To perform scientific projects in different areas of work, ciTechCare displays several laboratories dedicated to research in microbiology, exercise testing, acquisition and the processing of biomedical signals, assessment and advice of products for people with disabilities, to simulate emergency healthcare and to assess physical activity.
Advanced Laboratory for Diagnosis and Innovation
ATOPlab - Assistive Technology and Occupational Performance Laboratory
ALaDin (Advanced Laboratory for Diagnosis and Innovation), a laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for conducting tests in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and genomics, giving support to projects with a significant molecular and cell biology dimension.
aTOPLab (Assistive Technology and Occupational Performance Laboratory), a laboratory, focusing on assistive technology and occupational performance, supported by patron companies, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for individuals with disabilities, cognitive-motor limitations, or visual impairment. The lab also has 3D-printers to produce tailored equipment and typically requires continuous maintenance and updates to meet evolving research and clinical needs.
Biosignals Laboratory
Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Laboratory - CPET Lab
Biosignals Lab is laboratory focused on the acquisition and processing of various biomedical signals, including electrocardiogram, electroencephalogram, electromyogram, and others. The diverse range of equipment requires ongoing maintenance and calibration to guarantee the precision of the collected data.
CPET Lab (Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Laboratory) is a ciTechCare laboratory located inside Leiria Hospital and dedicated to performing cardiopulmonary exercise tests in the context of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation R&D programs. The equipment involved in such tests, which delve into cardiac, pulmonary, and metabolic functions, demands consistent maintenance to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the results.
Clinical Practice Simulation Centre (C2S)
Functional Assessment Laboratory
C2S (Clinical Practice Simulation Centre) is dedicated to simulating emergency healthcare scenarios using high-fidelity simulators under the scope of graduate formation and research. The sophisticated nature of the simulation equipment requires continuous maintenance and updates to ensure the effectiveness of training sessions, adding to the overall operational costs.
LiFe (Functional Assessment Laboratory) has the goal to investigate functionality and physical activity levels in patients and is equipped with tools for assessing health and well-being. Regular maintenance is crucial to uphold the quality and reliability of the assessments, contributing to the overall operational costs.
