The Foundation for Science and Technology has released the preliminary results of the evaluation of R&D Units (UID) under the Multiannual Program for Funding R&D Units 2023/2024 and revealed that ciTechCare was recognized as excellent in “Public Health, Nursing, Health Technologies” category, thus achieving the highest score of quality.
“This result represents not only an unequivocal recognition of the scientific quality of the work developed by the whole team, but also open new horizons and brings new responsibilities’, reveals Maria Guarino, ciTechCare coordinator.
The results revealed that reveal that ciTechCare was one of the 313 evaluated centers and one of the 135 centres with the highest score.
More than 315 international evaluators were involved in the evaluation process, in a total of 29 disciplinary panels, from scientific and academic institutions of 35 countries: on December 4, ciTechCare received an evaluation panel composed of 12 international academics to complete the evaluation process of the R&D Unit by the Foundation for Science and Technology, and previously, on October 7, ciTechCare was submitted to a remote assessment.
Fifteen Research & Development Units of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria were evaluated throughout this process: 8 achieved the ‘Excellent’ score, 5 got the ‘Very Good’ classification and 2 were recognized as ‘Good’.
This achievement “reveals the quality of our Research Units, being a recognition of the excellence, dedication and commitment of all researchers at the Polytechnic of Leiria, legitimizing our aspiration to become a University”, points out the President of Polytechnic of Leiria.
