The 5th Research Meeting of the Portuguese Palliative Care Association and the 1st International Palliative Care Meeting of the Azores took place on November 5, 6 and 7, and recognized the study “Spiritual wellbeing, coping with death and perception of spirituality and spiritual care: a cross-sectional study with professionals who care for people with palliative needs” with the Best Free Communication award.
The presented work resulted from research associated with the SPACEE project and is part of the Master’s thesis in Palliative Care by Verónica Silva. The project, which includes researchers Carlos Laranjeira, Ana Querido and Maria dos Anjos Dixe, has as its main objective to develop recommendations for spiritual care competencies for Palliative Care education and training in Portugal and Spain.
The conference also featured the participation of research fellows Ana Ramos and Gisela Reami, who are helping develop the Allaboard Project, which aims to strengthen the “Palliative Care at home” concept helping caregivers in their daily preparation for end-of-life care and reducing adverse effects for family caregivers (FCs).
