ciTechCare celebrates 7 years
After 7 years, ciTechCare’s mission to develop innovative solutions for health promotion, disease prevention, early diagnosis, and the improvement of quality of life for patients and caregivers has gained increasing recognition among partners, researchers, and healthcare professionals.
Throughout this journey marked by determination, dedication, resilience, and talent, ciTechCare has stood out through its scientific output, the establishment of national and international partnerships, the development of new laboratories, and the implementation of projects with a direct impact on the community and healthcare professionals. In this way, ciTechCare has reinforced its role as a leading research unit of the Polytechnic of Leiria in the field of innovation in healthcare.
The day was marked by a visit to the Health Innovation Hub at Campus 5 of the Polytechnic University of Leiria, particularly to the aTOPlab, ALaDin, Biosignals Laboratory, C2S Lab, Nutri Lab, and LiFe laboratories. The afternoon was dedicated to the presentation of seven PhD projects currently being developed at ciTechCare by the research fellows Flávio Costa, Rita Andrade Santos, Rita Novo, Sara Pimenta, Sónia Santos, Maria João Batalha and Joana Loureiro.
Researcher Carlos Laranjeira was recognized with the Productivity Award for his outstanding scientific output. An internal SeedCare Projects Competition was also announced, with the aim of funding research with scientific and clinical merit and strengthening the internal capacity of ciTechCare’s research teams.
These 7 years represent collective learning, continuous growth, and global recognition resulting from the scientific work developed over the years, supported by multidisciplinary teams and grounded in real-world needs.
