Advanced methods to delineate complex microbial communities towards clinical application – a Science Swing session

On october 25, ciTechCare received the visit of Alfonso Benitez Paez, principal investigator at The Laboratory for Host-Microbe Interactions in Metabolic Health, in the Principe Felipe Research Centre (Valencia, Spain) to share advanced methods of identifying complex microbial communities for clinical application, together with Ana Roque, PhD fellow at ciTechCare.

The guest of this session holds a PhD in Molecular Biology specialised in microbiota analyses from the environment – and human-derived samples, and he has also advanced expertise in biocomputing sciences. He has been dedicated his research work to the analysis of the impact of human microbiota on the development of metabolic diseases.

Ana Roque, PhD fellow at ciTechCare, presented the CeliAct (TIV) project, dedicated to the study of interaction mechanisms between microbiota, cell inflammation and gut translocation in celiac disease, where her PhD work is integrated and which counts on the collaboration of Alfonso.
