The Spin-Off of the Polytechnic of Leiria, AGILidades, was recognized with the Good Practices Award in Active and Healthy Aging in the Knowledge+ category, at the 11th edition of the Congress on Active and Healthy Aging, held at the Convent of São Francisco, in Coimbra, 5 December.
The main goal of the Good Practices Award of Active and Healthy Aging in the Central Region is to identify, recognize and disseminate projects and initiatives that aim to promote healthy lifestyles among the older population, and optimize the quality of life of older people.
According to the team, “this award is a validation of all the effort and dedication to make a difference in the lives of so many people”. AGILidades has been developing innovative solutions, allowing aging to be an even more “rich and full” stage, based on scientific knowledge and practice.
The 7th edition of the competition promoted by the Coordination and Regional Development Commission of the Centre, I.P., in collaboration with the consortia Ageing@Coimbra and AgeINFuture, had a total of 149 applications to the competition, which resulted in 12 finalists and 4 winners.
In the Health+ category, the projet “Em idade maior: espaço adequado & corpo mobilizado“, promoted by the Public Local Health Unit of Guarda, was distinguished, and in the Life+ category, the awarded projetcs were “Escola Alfa“, promoted by the Cultural and Training Assistance Center of Fundão and “VirtuALL“, developed by AD ELO – Local Development Association of Bairrada and Mondego.
