ciTechCare researchers participated at the Meeting of Mental Health of the Region of Leiria

On May 28 and 29, the Cine Theater of Alcobaça hosted the Meeting of Mental Health of the Region of Leiria entitled (Psycho) Humanize: when the invisible becomes essential, whose aim was to address issues that help to understand, work and destigmatize mental illness, promoting the global health of the population.

Marlene Rosa, ciTechCare researcher in neurosciences and founder of the Agilidades projec led a workshop on Ludotherapy, helping to understand its role in mental health.

José Carlos Gomes, researcher at ciTechCare specialized in mental health and PhD in Public Health, also integrated this event in the panel ‘Intervention in therapeutic groups’.

“The Meeting of Mental Health of the Region of Leiria, edition of 2024, brings to the public discussion the issue of Mental Health in very different spheres, since the intervention in specific groups and areas, without forgetting the role of affects in the preventive and interventive context. The promotion, intervention and prevention as a whole, uniting professionals and community, in an interdisciplinary context of knowledge sharing”, explains Joana Correia, director of the Clinical and Health Psychology Service of ULSRL, representing the Organizing Committee of the event.

There were two days full of informative sessions, oral communications and workshops, that counted on the presence of around 300 participants including psychiatrists, pedopsychiatrists, nurses, psychologists and other professional groups.
