In an interview with Lusa agency, Maria Guarino, coordinator of ciTechCare, highlights the ‘great growth’ of the research unit over the last 5 years, which is reflected in more than 4 hundred papers published in indexed scientific bases, 22 PhD students, 36 funded projects (13 with international collaborations).

ciTechCare and the Hospital Center of Leiria have worked closely, not only with researchers who carry out their clinical practice in the hospital, but also, for example, through projects such as 2Arts, a cardiac rehabilitation program that allowed the acquisition of “a very differentiating equipment, which is installed in the hospital of Leiria” and has “a very important use for research”.

Maria Guarino also underlines that ciTechCare is sought by several professionals to develop their projects “especially in the areas of respiratory and cardiac rehabilitation, support products and assistive technology and palliative care”.
