The 3 days DE-PASS (Determinants of Physical Activities in Settings) Training School April 2022 took place at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VUA), from 4th to 6th April.
Joana Cruz, ciTechCare researcher, participated in this COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) action concerning the “State of the art in physical activity behaviour, data collection, research harmonisation, integrated and federated data analysis across multiple cohorts and countries”.
COST actions are an unique model for the researchers to develop ideas and initiatives together, which contributes to an european standardizaton of knowledge about a certain theme.
This training school included the presence of some field experts, such as Professor Eco de Geus and Professor Hidde van der Ploeg, who coordinated the course.
Each day a different theme, but the same routine: a keynote presentation for 1 hour and a hands-on workshop for 3h.
In the first day, the focus was on the “State of the art in PAB data collection”. The following day was time to talk about “Research harmonisation and designs: challenges and opportunities” and the last day, the main theme was about “Integrated & Federated data analysis”.
