Exercise, (In)satisfation with body image and anxiety during lockdown

Roberta Fontini, researcher at ciTechCare, collaborated on 2 papers presented at the 9th Congress of the Scientific Society of Sport Pedagogy. The first, an oral communication entitled “Exercise dependence, (dis)satisfaction with body image and anxiety in crosstrainers during COVID19 lockdown” and the second, a poster entitled “(Dis)satisfaction with body image and anxiety in gym users during COVID19 lockdown”.

The results reinforced the importance of researchers and fitness coaches being aware of signs of exercise addiction as well as the levels of anxiety of crosstrainers. Furthermore, they helped to characterize crosstrainers and gym users in terms of (dis)satisfaction with body image and anxiety during the second lockdown. Again, female practitioners had higher levels of anxiety compared to male practitioners.
