Marlene Rosa, researcher at ciTechCare and lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, Polytechnic of Leiria, was interviewed in late April about her latest work on developing an analogue game to help treating chronic pain in the geriatric population. This work is being carried out in collaboration with the Universidade Católica de Pelotas – UCPel Catholic University of Pelotas, represented by the coordinating team of the Center for Extension in Attention to the Elderly of the Catholic University of Pelotas (CETRES / UCPel, Brazil).Marlene and Ricardo Pocinho (lecturer at the School of Education and Social Sciences, ESECS – IPLeiria) highlight: “We have no doubts about the importance of the educational game in geriatrics. In the context of programmes that can be developed in this area of education for pain, educational games deserve full prominence for the way they help, guide and can stimulate interactions and sharing experiences about possible solutions for the management of chronic pain».
