On September 5th, the auditorium of the School of Health Sciences of Polytechnic of Leiria (ESSLei) hosted the closing workshop of the MorphoPlay project, an event opened to the envolved community, in particular, but also to those interested in learning more about this project.
During the session the project team talked about the serious game construction process, the challenges in data collection and data analysis and the commitment for the future, which will need more funding.
The MorphoPlay project, funded since 2023 by the Foundation for Science and Technology, resulted in a joint collaborative work between ciTechCare, Linguist Center of University of Lisbon (CLUL), the LabLinC – Language and Cognition Laboratory of the University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) and the CIIC – Computer Sciences and Communication Research Centre of the Polytechnic of Leiria.
Over 18 months, researchers, lectures and students came together to create a way to assess morphological knowledge, based on a set of scrupulously controlled items that allowed basing the assessment on reference values for reaction times. So was born the serious game Costa Nova.
