Technologies 4 health – A Campus 5 O’Clock Talk session

Carlos Ferreira, graduated in Bioengineering and PhD student in this area, was the guest speaker of the Campus 5 O’Clock Talk session, which took place on June 22, 4 PM, at the Health Innovation Hub of Polytechnic of Leiria.

With an extensive experience as a Medical Technology researcher, Carlos Ferreira has worked at U. Porto Innovation as a technology analyst, dedicated his research work on medical image analysis for the classification of pulmonary nodules with computed tomography, at the Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science – INESC TEC, and more recently he has been treasurer at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), in the Portugal Section.

The progress of Technology and Engineering has made Medicine an area with an incredible growth, able to deliver effective solutions with expressive results to face huge needs in health care.

So that, the session focused on the projects in which he is involved and how artificial intelligence can contribute, not only to bring new solutions in the healthcare system but also to increase the performance in many other fields of work.

The presence of speaker ended up with a guided visit to the Health Innovation Hub facilities.
