Joana Cruz integrates a mobility programme in Brazil
ciTechCare researcher Joana Cruz was in international mobility at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), where she promoted a graduate course in Physiotherapy on emerging technologies in physical activity monitoring, and participated in the public doctoral exam of the student Naiara Leonardi, as a member of the orientation team. Over two weeks, the researcher got to know the various projects taking place in the laboratories of the Departments of Physiotherapy and Gerontology of the University, and visited the Health-School Unit and the UFSCar. ciTechCare was represented at the ERS Congress 2024
The International Congress of the European Respiratory Society (ERS), that took place in Vienna from 7th to 11th September, counted on the participation of three ciTechCare researchers working in the field of physical activity and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and exercise prehabilitation in patients with Lung Cancer, through the presentation of posters, as chair of several panel discussions and as part of the faculty. Flávio Costa participates in the largest global meeting on celiac disease
The research technician working in CeliAct(TIV) project, Flávio Costa, participated in the biennial meeting of the International Society for Study of Celiac Disease (ISSCD), the largest global meeting in the field of celiac disease and gluten-mediated human disease, for health professionals, researchers, scientists and others important entities, such as the food industry, which allows understanding the disease, from a multidisciplinary perspective. ciTechCare marks World Lung Day
It was marked on September 25, the World Lung Day, which aims to raise awareness of the world population for respiratory diseases – which, in Portugal, represent the third cause of death. To highlight this day, Pedro Machado, PhD student at ciTechCare, made a presentation about the work he has been developing within his doctoral project – OncoEnergy: Effect of a preoperative exercise training program on quality of life after colorectal and lung cancer surgery. Pedro Machado is the principal investigator of the OncoEnergy project, funded by FCT since 2020 and whose main objective is to assess the feasibility and
