Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) released yesterday, July 29th, the provisional results of the 2021 Call for PhD Research Scholarships. Andreia Antunes, Nádia Hipólito and Marlene Lages, collaborators of ciTechCare, are among the candidates who got their application approved for funding.
Andreia’s project entitled “New procedure to collect fat stromal vascular fraction for genital vulvovaginal atrophy regeneration” aims to test if the stromal vascular fraction obtained with total tissue biopsy improves vulvovaginal atrophy regeneration in post-menopausal women.
The project that Nádia proposed in her application is entitled “moveUP! Upgrading a mHealth app for personalized physical activity coaching within pulmonary rehabilitation in COPD” and intends to identify the best mode of delivery of physical activity coaching within pulmonary rehabilitation in individuals with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and integrate this knowledge into an innovative and personalized mobile application.
The project proposed by Marlene is entitled “NutriClock – Understanding the association between chronotype and metabolic homeostasis: the circadian clock as a tool for nutritional intervention in obesity“and aims to assess the impact of meal times on circadian rhythm and metabolic disease biomarkers.
Their PhD will be supervised by members from the ciTechCare team of the Polytechnic of Leiria (IPLeiria) and researchers from the Associate Laboratory ICVS/3B’s, the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences – University of Porto and the Centre for Neurosciences and Cell Biology – University of Coimbra.
