ciTechCare is celebrating 3 years
ciTechCare’s third birthday gathered, last Friday, 13 may, several collaborators to talk about Cardio-respiratory rehabilitation and secondary prevention. This research, development and innovation unit dedicated to the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the prevention, diagnosis and early intervention of the disease have been evolved for the past 3 years towards a challenging and motivated path, through a scientific community even more specialized. According to Maria Guarino, ciTechCare coordinator, “the last 3 years provided new scientific knowledge, funded projects, published articles, international collaborations and strengthening of our regional network. Opening of call for research scholarship
The Association for Research and Development of the Faculty of Medicine (AIDFM) opened a call for 3 Research Scholarship, intended for nutritionists, under the project “A Randomized Controlled Trial to evaluate the effects of the Mediterranean Diet as an adjuvant in the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder” (PTDC/SAU-NUT/3321/2020), financed by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). RUN-EU Institutional Visit to Polytechnic of Leiria
On May 10, at ciTechCare, more than 40 people had the opportunity to get to know the Biosignals and the Advanced Diagnosis laboratories, the Assistive Technology and Occupational Performance Laboratory (aTOPlab) and the Healthcare Simulation Laboratory, whose main goal is to allow healthcare students to practice before their rotations, with advanced technology equipment. ciTechCare received Feevale University Committee
According to the established protocol between Politécnico de Leiria and Feevale University, ciTechCare was visited by the committee of this Higher Education Institution from Rio Grande do Sul, last 4th May. Doctor Cleber Prodanov, Feevale University Dean and Doctor Paula Casari Cundaria, Director of International and Institutional Relations, got the chance to visit the bioengineering and biochemical laboratories, the Assistive Technology and Occupational Performance Laboratory (aTOPlab) and the Healthcare Simulation Center. Funding Sources with Maria Guarino – Campus 5 O’Clock Talk
Last Campus 5 O’Clock Talk session was led by Maria Guarino and happened yesterday, 28th april. The focus of this meeting was to share up to date information about funding sources, a particularly interesting topic for ciTechCare. “Taking a PhD does not mean we have to use personal finances. International Project for Oral Health promotion receives ERASMUS+ grant
Accessing to oral health services is not an easy process, specially for vulnerable patient groups, such as frail older people, people with severe mental illness, and people with an intellectual disability. Also, research shows that oral care professionals, nursing professionals and social work professionals are lacking the knowledge and skills needed to ensure good oral care for this patient groups.
