MorphoPlay project marks its end with an open event

On July 19, Catarina Marques and Katie Phair were the invited speakers of the Science Swing session dedicated to raising awareness and preventing antimicrobial resistance. ‘Prevention is Better than cure? A contribution of infection prevention and control’ was the theme presented by Catarina Marques, PhD fellow at ciTechCare in Occupational Safety and Health, focusing on measures to prevent pathogens with multidrug resistance spread in long-term care units. Requalification project at Campus 5 will improve and create new laboratories
An investment of around 600,000 euros will be applied to the Health Innovation Hub of the Campus 5 of Polytechnic of Leiria, in order to enhance the comfort of the building and adapt the spaces, allowing an optimization of the functioning, particularly at scientific and pedagogical level, for the health area. Ana Isabel Roque awarded a FLAD grant
Ana Isabel Roque, PhD student in Biology at NOVA FCT and research fellow at ciTechCare was distinguished by the Luso-American Foundation for Development, with a grant in the amount of 6000 euros, intended for the internship that the PhD student will carry out at the Mucosal Immunology and Biology Research Center, Massachusetts General Hospital for Children, in Boston and which will begin on September 23, 2024. ciTechCare visited the University of Burgos
A delegation from ciTechCare visited the University of Burgos (UBU) from the 1st to the 6th of july. The visit, arranged with the UBU Faculty of Health Sciences, showcased an array of advanced facilities and fostered promising discussions for future collaborations. Sustainable gums developed at ciTechCare were highlighted at ISDH 2024
Luís Soares Luís participated at the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene, which took place from 11 to 13 July in Seoul, South Korea, where he presented the oral communication entitled “Sweet revolution: Xylitol and pear on anticariogenic gummy candies for sustainable oral health”, co-authored with researchers Henrique Luís, Ana Cristina Rodrigues and Marisa Gaspar. This work was developed in the scope of the FRUIGU project, and had the specific goal of promoting oral health from gums that have in their composition pear Rocha residues and Xylitol, a sweetener with anti-cariogenic activity already demonstrated. The sensory analysis performed allowed to observe
