The development of scientific projects in the area of physical activity and its impact on the rehabilitation of patients with chronic disease was the main purpose of the last Science Swing session that took place at the Health Innovation Hub, on June 19. Opening of call for research fellowships

The Polytechnic of Leiria is now opening applications for (three) scientific research fellowship (BI) within the project “MorphoPlay – Playful strategies for assessing morphological knowledge (2022.02585.PTDC)”, financed by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). Sandra Neves, design healthcare-related researcher and Vice-Director of LIDA (Laboratory in Design and Arts of Polytechnic of Leiria) and Satu Jumisko-Pyykkö, principal research scientist at the University of Applied Sciences Häme, in Finland, on Design thinking lead a science swing session on may 31, at 10 a.m. Both communications addressed several design projects whose practical application in various situations, both in the hospital and in daily life, through human interaction is truly remarkable. CiTechCare researchers Ana Querido, António Campos, Carolina Henriques, Raquel Oliveira and Sónia Gonçalves Pereira are members of the Committee of Experts of the Researcher Center of Leiria Hospital Center (RS.LHC). The Committee of Experts gathered on may 25 for the first time to inform about the developed work of the RS.LHC over the last 9 years, to discuss work perspectives and to promote future activities. Maria Guarino, Coordinator of ciTechCare, also joined the meeting as member of the Executive Committee of the RS.LHC, presented the ciTechCare and strategies to straight professional relationships and empower partner projects on scientific research. Ana Querido kicked off a new cycle of conferences at the Research Center of Leiria Hospital Center

The first of four conferences organized by the Research Center of the Hospital Center of Leiria (HCL), was conducted on May 25, by Ana Querido, researcher at ciTechCare in the area of Mental Health and Palliative Care. The invited speaker dedicated her presentation to the theme “Knowledge in Health Care Service – The perspective of a Researcher” and talked about two of the research projects that are developing “Hope in Palliative Care” and “Caregiver Training”.
